Ecohotels in Poland are not as popular as in Western countries. They slowly appear and starting their business. Unfortunately they don’t have web pages on which are placed information about their eco activities. Below I mentioned only few eco activities, I could find on the internet as interview with owners of the hotels. The most “Eco type” is HOSTEL in

Eco practices in hotels, hostels are:
- Using new technologies – LED and saving energy in practice
- The water is heated by solar panels
- Water saving- systems
- Waste, rubbish are separated
- Air in the building is cleaned by a green wall of plants (hostel)
Part of an interview with owner of the Wilson Hostel:
In the hotel has been applied ecological heating methods, based on renewable energy sources. Could you say more about it? In other words - what makes the hostel "organic'?
The water in the hostel is heated by solar-type Vitosol 200-T (a "Blue Angel"). At a time when collectors do not work (and work even under a cloudy sky) water in the building is warmed by gas fired condensing boiler Vitodens 200-W, which consumes less energy because it uses the additional latent heat of exhaust gases. Hot water for specific needs such as are in the hostel (sudden high demand, eg in the morning) is stored in isolated tank 1000l. Consumption of water in the bathrooms is limited by battery systems with time-sinks and showers. Heat of used water, which normally escapes into the drains is also recovered and sent to heat clean water in tanks.
What other solutions have been used?
In the building is installed central vacuum cleaner that makes a lot easier to get rid of the dust. Other environmental solutions concern about our conduct and use of resources. Segregate waste, recover material, we use a composter, etc.
There is a green wall of plants. Do it has only a decorative function?
In addition to its aesthetic value, it performs the role of the air purifier and humidifier because the air to ventilate the building is taken just behind this wall.

Breakfast – scrambled egg with paprika, onion, bread and beetroot juice
Dinner - mushroom soup with kale and pearl barley; buckwheat noodles with peanut sauce and spinach
Supper - plain yogurt with oatmeal, cinnamon and seasonal fruits; tomato or carrot juice
